Activities

Make, notice, imagine.

Simple activities that work with things you probably already have. A grown-up can help choose and set up.

Colours and observation

Five-colour hunt

  1. Pick a colour.
  2. Find five safe things nearby that use it.
  3. Choose the lightest and darkest.
  4. Draw your favourite one.

Practise: colour recognition, comparison, and careful looking.

Stories and sequencing

Three-step story

  1. Choose a character, a place, and a small problem.
  2. Say what happened first, next, and last.
  3. Draw the middle of the story.
  4. Tell it again with one detail changed.

Practise: story order, vocabulary, and flexible thinking.

Keep it playful

There is no perfect result. Ask what the child noticed, let them change the rules, and stop when the activity stops being fun.
