Last updated 13 September 2026. This notice describes the current static site, its adult-only forms, and the services that deliver them.
Who is responsible
Clever Playhouse is responsible for the information adults choose to submit through this site. The contact form reaches the site operator.
Information the games ask for
The optional player setup asks for one first name or nickname, an age from 3 to 11, and a Girl, Boy, or Everyone team style. Families can leave any field unset, play without a profile, change it, or remove it. The profile stays in the browser and is not sent through the current site code. Clever Playhouse does not ask a child for an email address, account, birth date, school, photo, voice, message, or location.
Information an adult can choose to send
The game-notification form asks for an email address and an explicit confirmation that the person is at least 18 and wants emails when new games are published. The contact form asks for an email address, topic, message, and an optional name. These forms are for adults. Please do not send personal information about a child.
How form information is used
Game-notification details are used only for emails about newly published Clever Playhouse games and essential notices about that list. Consent is the lawful basis for those emails and can be withdrawn at any time through the contact form. Contact-form details are used under Clever Playhouse’s legitimate interest in reading, investigating, and replying to messages about the site. Contact details are never added to the notification list unless the adult separately completes that form.
The email address and consent confirmation are required to join the notification list. An email address, topic, and message are required to use the contact form; a name is optional. Clever Playhouse does not use this information for automated decisions or profiling.
Form processing and retention
Formspree processes and stores form submissions for Clever Playhouse and sends a copy to the site owner. It may also receive technical information such as the submitter’s IP address, browser type, access time, and referring site for delivery and security. Formspree says its service runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States and that it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses when acting as a data processor. Read Formspree’s privacy policy. See its security information.
Notification requests are kept until permission is withdrawn or the notification list is closed. Contact messages are normally removed within 12 months after the conversation is resolved, unless they are needed longer for a security, legal, or safeguarding reason.
Browser storage and tracking
If someone selects Save, the profile is stored in this browser’s local storage under one Clever Playhouse key. It stays on that device and is read by the website, games, and activities to show the name, suggest an age band, and apply the selected team style. The current source does not send that profile to Clever Playhouse, place it in a cookie, or use advertising trackers, behavioural analytics, social widgets, or third-party embedded media. Game scores and progress still last only for the open page.
On a first visit to the homepage or a main discovery page, the setup opens automatically. “Skip for now” stores one session-only dismissal in this browser tab so the question does not repeat on every page; it expires with the browsing session. The profile can be removed from the player button. Clearing this site’s browser data also removes it. Formspree is contacted only when an adult submits one of the forms.
Hosting information
When this site is deployed as configured, Render hosts and delivers its static files. Render may process technical request information such as an IP address, browser details, requested page, and time to operate and protect the service. Render controls its infrastructure logs and retention under its privacy policy. Clever Playhouse does not add analytics or use those request logs to profile children.
Future features
Accounts, server-side profiles, uploads, chat, and live AI personalization are not part of this version. A feature that changes what information is processed requires a new review and an updated notice before release.
Your choices and contact
You can ask what information is held about you, correct it, request deletion or restriction, object to its use, or withdraw notification permission through the contact form. Choose “Privacy or safety” or “Game notifications” so the request is easy to identify. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
