A LITTLE NUMBER PRACTICE

Double Garden

Make two equal beds. Find the double or share a total in half.

About Double Garden

Modelling doubles and halves with equal groups up to 20. Suggested ages 5–9. Readiness matters more than age.

Choose doubling or halving and smaller beds (1–5) or larger beds (1–10). For doubling, add or remove counters in the second bed until it matches the first, then choose the combined total. For halving, share an even quantity between two beds and then choose the number in each equal bed. Answer choices become available only after the model is complete. Six gardens, safe removal, exact counter limits, three-step model help, explicit Next, completion and replay.

Show me starts with the amount, then shows matching groups or giving one to each bed, and finally explains the equation. Choose Next step to continue or Repeat steps to see it again. Back to the question keeps your own counters and answer choices exactly as you left them.

Use labelled buttons with touch, Tab and Enter. Replay Show me whenever useful. A grown-up may need to read the first instruction. There is no speech or required sound. Number models have text descriptions; manual screen-reader and child testing are pending.

Practice stays on this page. The optional player profile is stored on this device only when explicitly saved. No game scores or history are stored. This local draft is still under review. Visit all games.
